leslierahye's Hippity Hoppity Steampunk Spring Blog Hop 2014

Spring has arrived in my neck of the woods.  The trees are budding and blossoming, this was the inspiration for my blossoming steampunk card.  This is a technique that I first saw on a card my mother made.  Simply stamp on layered paper and then matte to seperate the layers.

Patterned paper from the DCWV Timeless Type stack was used for the base and the matte layers.  A background of various 'gear' stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps was stamped using Ranger's Old Paper Distress ink onto cream cardstock from the dollarstore.  Sentiment was stamped using Ranger archival ink and a stamp from the "For all you do Vintage labels three" Just Rite Clear stamp set.  The focal stamps are from the HOTP "Far East" acrylic stamp set and were stamped in Archival Ink and coloured with Distress markers.  The whole card is held together with Miracle tape and the top centre layer was popped up with some foam tape from the Dollarstore.

Thank you for hopping by, I hope you enjoy this hop as much as I have enjoyed being a part of it.  Now it is time to hop along to the next blog.  Happy Spring all.

  3. Your card is stunning. I am in the learning process of making cards and this technique is beautiful and creative. Can't wait to try it out today. The gears behind the butterflies are so soft yet effective in giving the steampunk feel to it. Thank you for sharing. I'm inspired!
