Simply Birthday Cards

Two Simple Birthday Cards
October is a month chock full of birthdays in my world, and since I have been making cards again I felt it would be expected of me to give handmade cards for birthdays.  I made these two very simple cards for my loved ones.  I used a white card base that I purchased at a dollarstore and I cut some K and Company paper to fit the front of the card blank. I cut out paper embellishments from the same papers and fixed them to the front of the cards (I used beacon 3-in-1 glue and dollarstore foam tape.) I stamped a sentiment using Ranger Tim Holtz distress inks and an acrylic stamp from the HOTP magical birthday set.  I added some interest to the cards by using bling from the dollarstore (the blue bling came that colour and the yellow bling was originally clear, but I dyed it with Adirondack Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks.)  I hope the recipients enjoy these cards as much as I have.

Let it Snow

Winter Wonderland
For this month's second A.J.'s Digi Shoppe design team submission, I tore myself away from Amanda's adorable Halloween designs and made a Christmas card.  I think this Christmas Owl is very cute and he looks so cozy in his scarf and toque (that is winter hat, for all you non-Canadians out there.)  Click here to go to A.J.'s Digi Shoppe Owls section. I also used Amanda's Let it Snow/Snowflakes Freebie which is available here
